Regimental NATO straps on the cheap

Inspired by a post on a time to get, I Googled "nato regimental straps" and was rewarded gnomonwatches.com where they are offering NATO straps in regimental patterns, in both 18 and 20 mm, for $14 a piece. This is a steal when you considering that J. Press sells them for $30 ($21.75 when on sale) and RLT Watches sells them for significantly more when you factor in shipping and pounds to dollars conversion rate. This is really a great deal; I can't wait to pick some up myself.

Hey - thanks for the tip on the NATO watch bands. As I was browsing, my wife came in and saw them - I just put in a request for Father's Day. Thanks for posting!!

Check out Leather Man Ltd. out of CT. They have tons of choices, custom make in your choice of silver or brass hardware are grosgrain AND are only $12.

sorrentolens,
Glad you could use the tip. Hopefully Father's Day will turn out well!

Dickie,
You're right that you can order watchbands from Leather Man. However, those are basically regular watchstraps without the extra hardware that is found on the NATO straps. The ones from Leather Man are very similar to the ones found at Centralwatch.com which can be picked up for 5 for $30.

Next time you drive to Chattanooga from ATL, go to Bruce Baird & Co. They have a nice assortment of ribbon bands for $10 a piece.

I'm trying to find the right kind of watch to use this band on. Nothing to expensive, but good quality. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Anon,
Might I suggest you check out my older post on some affordable military style watches? Found here.

how bout just using the band that comes on the watch instead of making it gay. just a thought from a straight man.

Dusty,
What if the band that comes on there is already gay? Plus, variety is the spice of life.

I just replaced the band on an old Lacoste watch with the red and black stripe. They are so sharp, many compliments already. Good heads up.

Dustin's ignorance is great. Can't get more manly than a NATO strap, which are originally for the military.

Tony,
You are correct, but he is a friend of mine, so I just know to take his comments with a grain (or more) of salt.
