Since I'm suspecting that few readers here have driven all three of these vehicles, this will be a vote based largely on appearance, or which one you would want to have for a trek through the African wilderness. It should be noted, though, that all three of these have pretty impressive pedigrees, and pretty notorious maintenance issues to match. I've included both 2-door and 4-door/long versions of each to keep it a more level playing field.
Cast your vote in the poll on the right side of the screen and decide which one is King of the Mountain.

Land Rover Defender 110, all the way
I'm a HUGE Land Cruiser fan. Like big time.
Though I love Toyota Land Cruisers and never experienced the MB, my rides across the Moroccan sands in a Defender were top notch. That thing could take any abuse you could throw at it.
Defender 90 soft-top can't be beat, but the old school land cruisers come real close. The Mercedes is too refined, looks like something I'd buy for my girlfriend....if I could afford it....and I had a girlfriend.
Thats the first time I have ever seen a soft top G-wagon. It looks pretty cool. And I'm a Toyota guy and love Land Cruisers, but as far as utility and off-beatness, I'd have to go with the Defender 90. Something like 80% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road today. Can't beat that.
