Americano:
- 1/2 Sweet Vermouth
- 1/2 Campari
- splash of club soda
- Garnish: orange slice
Pour over ice into a collins glass.
Sidecar:
- One part cognac
- One part orange liqueur
- One part lemon juice
The Vesper- many will recognize this as James Bond's cocktail from the novels, as well as in Casino Royale
- 3 measures of Gordon’s gin
- 1 measure of vodka
- 1/2 a measure of Lillet
Shake until ice cold and serve in a deep champagne goblet with a large thin slice of lemon peel

Brandy Alexander-
- 1 1/2 oz Brandy
- 1 oz Dark Crème de Cacao
- 1 oz Half-and-half or Heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp grated Nutmeg

Trip, I quit drinking about 3 months ago, which I don't suggest you contemplate until at least middle age. Anyway, what I'm missing is summer G&Ts. A most agreeable drink.
Trip, you might also like to mix a Negroni, which is similar to the Americano but with gin...
Equal parts of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. Garnish with an orange peel.
Gin is never a bad choice, duly noted.
